Flexible flat cable, referred to as flexible flat cable or FFC, RFC. It is a new type of data cable made of PET or other insulating materials and extremely thin tinned flat copper wire by pressing through the production line of high-tech automation equipment. It has the advantages of soft, flexible bending and folding, thin thickness, small size, simple connection, convenient disassembly, and easy to solve electromagnetic shielding (EMI).
Flexible flat cables are mainly divided into two types: round ends (R-FFC for direct welding) and flat ends (FFC for insertion into sockets).
It is most suitable for use as data transmission cable between mobile parts and mainboard, between boards, and in miniaturized electrical equipment. At present, it is widely used in the connection between various printer printheads and mainboards, as well as the signal transmission and board connection of plotters, scanners, copiers, audio, LCD appliances, fax machines, various video players and other products. In modern electrical equipment, there is hardly any.
Because the price and cost of FFC cable is better than FPC (flexible printed circuit), its application will become more and more extensive. In most places where FPC is used, FFC can be used instead.
